My story
I was born in Brussels and raised just across the township line in Morris Township. Almost 47 years ago, I bought the property in Grey Ward where we still live and work today, and it's been home ever since.
My path into public service started with volunteering, not politics. Joining the Brussels Optimist Club, I saw firsthand the difference a group of committed volunteers can make in a small community, and that's what first got me interested in serving on Council.
That interest turned into more than 25 years of public service to Huron East, including my current role as Deputy Mayor, a position Council selected me for in 2022.
I feel I have the experience to lead Huron East into our next chapter. 25-plus years at the council table taught me how Council actually works, and how to bring ten councillors together around a shared plan, the kind of experience that turns priorities like roads and infrastructure, responsible budgeting, and support for local business into real progress, not just promises.
